HER DEDICATION TO DIVERSITY & INCLUSION:

Krissa has worked passionately as an advocate for underrepresented groups. As a Queer-Identifying, Latin-American and Neurodivergent performer, she sees firsthand how vital it is that everyone be invited to the conversation to provide inclusion, diversity and equality in the arts. She strives to treat every production member with kindness, encouragement and mutual respect, and works to promote these ideals.

Her budding production company 'Pyreside Productions' has a mission focused on being a space to uplift and treasure the voices of underrepresented groups, where we share the stories of Queer people, people of color, and people with disabilities.

Along with her work on screen, she has experience in Theatre of the Oppressed from her time in a Theatre Troupe specialized in interactive theatre to promote DEI Training and Social Change in Springfield, MO. She has worked with local and national companies, schools, and organizations to educate people about cultural competence, inclusivity, and intends to continue that work moving into film.

Krissa feels it is important to share her stories about her experiences having Autism, ADHD, Tourette's, and Dyscalculia, and works on projects to provide more visability and accurate representation to those issues. She is proud to be who she is, and wants to assure that little kids don't have to grow up without seeing themselves in film and media. She hopes they can feel a little less alone upon watching her share who she is.

HER DEDICATION TO OTHERS:

People need people. It's why what we do, why what we create for one another is so important. As human beings, telling our stories is written in our bones, and with Artists it is stronger than anyone. Krissa has always been a storyteller, and she's done it loud and proud to everyone who knows her since she had the words to form them.

Krissa believes in the necessary bonds formed with the people you find in life. Love plays a big role in her world. She feels love very powerfully, and shares it often. With her friends, her family—We are connected even to strangers. And for Krissa, storytelling has never felt more meaningful than when it is to a group of people you don't even know.

To her, a big part of the reason we are here is to leave a handprint on the hearts of the people we encounter, and through sharing who she is through what she and other artists have to say, she makes a lasting impact. Krissa wants to impact others the way that she has been lucky enough to be impacted by art herself. To do that for those who need it is her biggest hope.

HER DEDICATION TO LIFE:

Krissa knows the value of living for yourself, for the things that nurture joy and love. Call it pretentious, if you'd like, but the following fact is true: Krissa studied philosophy in her time in college, and it made her better. A better Actor, a better human, a better her. Krissa heavily invests in the study of life itself, and values the importance of being mindful about and active in growing yourself as a person.

In order to bring authenticity and understanding to what she does, she considers studies of Psychology, Sociology, and Philosophy crucial in creating real art. Artificiality and lies have no place in the arts. She is committed to being well learned in what it means to be alive. in-so-doing, nothing she does will ever be replicatable. She's simply her.

HER DEDICATION TO THE ARTS:

Krissa is a dedicated educate and a philomath. She invests heavily in gaining experience and furthering her knowledge and expertise in her work.  She places high priority in knowing her craft well and perfecting her execution of it. Her deep love of the arts and immersion in it keeps her on her toes, always learning, and always eager to pursue new avenues and try new things! Honing in all that she has learned each day to be more whole and realized than the last is her quest, and it keeps paying off!

HER DEDICATION TO YOU:

Krissa will put her all into whatever you bring forth, and won't stop until you've created something beautiful and real together. She is ready for your next adventure, and looks forward to braving the storm together!

"Another fun fact is that I have been doing theatre since I was in kindergarten. Performing has played such a key role of what made me who I am that it managed to continue and stay with me all these years. To this day, that ridiculous little girl is still a major piece of me.  Since you made it this far, click here to enjoy this addition to the site I kept as a little tribute to my parents, the people who kept that little girl alive when I struggled to do so; a clip of me performing "Little Girls" as Miss Hannigan in Annie when I was ten. According to my Dad, this was the moment that convinced the two of them that this was what I was going to do for the rest of my life, and that nothing short of a meteor shattering the planet would be stopping me. Both of my parents have been supporting of what I could be since I started bossing kids around on the playground to film movies about a stinky piece of radioactive cheese (I am unfortunately not joking, there is apparently video proof of this as well). It seemed I couldn't be kept from creating and performing. So, a whopping 11 years ago, my Dad and I added my Annie performance as the very first addition to my original website, and it seems only fitting that I keep it here. So enjoy it as an homage, and as a special thank you to them.

If you liked learning a little more about who I am, don't forget to visit the Contact Page to get in touch. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better. There's still lots to explore!"
